Weekend in Dublin

St. Patrick's Day:

I can't really think of a better place to be than Dublin on Saint Patrick's Day weekend. I was looking forward to this trip all semester, because almost all of my friends from school who were studying abroad were going to meet in Dublin for this weekend. Yes, flights and airbnb's do get really pricey, but as long as you reserve them ahead of time - probably in December - the trip will be reasonable and worth going on!

The city centre is very walkable and surrounding places to stay are also walking distance. There's no Uber but its easy to catch a taxi anywhere on the street or through the mytaxi app. To get to and from the airport, I found that the Aircoach buses were cheap and went straight to the city.

I had a really fun time walking around Dublin City Centre and the Temple Bar area all weekend and fitting into the crowd while wearing obnoxious green outfits. There were St. Patricks Day celebrations in Copenhagen too, but I thought it would was going to be one of the only times in my life where I would be able to celebrate the holiday in Dublin.

I was only there from Friday night until Sunday morning, but I wished I could've stayed for actual St. Patricks Day on Sunday to see the parade. Even though I missed the parade, I heard lots of live music in the city and saw a good part of Dublin on Saturday. I also had to get an Ireland scarf to bring home from the city before I left.

Unpopular opinion: Shamrock shakes are good & a necessary drink for the month of March
